UK in Montenegro

A ceremony organised by Montenegro and the UK marked the 65th anniversary of evacuation of around 900 wounded Partisans, and Allied aircrew shot down on operations over the Balkans. The RAF completed the evacuation in one day, on  20 August 1944, as 10,000 German troops were approaching the airstrip in Brezna, in northern Montenegro. RAF veteran Philip Lawson, aged 88, and Ambassador Kevin Lyne during the airlift anniversary ceremony.

Swine flu situation in Montenegro
